William Eddy

Bill Eddy is the Executive Director of 21st Century Debate Institute and Senior Debate Instructor at Magnet Learning Academy located in Irvine, California. Coach Bill teaches advanced debate to students in the United States and abroad. While coaching in the Republic of Korea, his teams won first-place honors at the NSDA Nationals in Korea for both the Public Forum debate style (High School, middle school, and elementary school) and the Lincoln Douglas debate (High school and middle school). In addition to debate titles, his students also won top honors for Humorous Interpretation of Literature, Storytelling, and second place for Dramatic Interpretation of Literature. Under his direct leadership and coaching, Magnet Debate Academy won the Korea nationals three years in a row.

In the United States, Coach Bill is a national champion as both a collegiate competitor and coach - in Parliamentary Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Impromptu Speaking. When relaxing, he enjoys listening to "military sci-fi" novels on audiobook. His favorite narrator is RC Bray.

Coach Bill values honesty and integrity and does his best to employ a deeper learning approach to teaching debate - helping students to build the 21st Century Skills necessary for success in such a competitive world. He believes that trust, civility, and respect are vital components toward building meaningful collaboration skills that establish a strong foundation for leadership. His students are well respected for their excellence in critical thinking, confident speaking, and effective collaboration.
